Aims and Objectives

 

An initiative of the Agricultural Shows Australia (ASA), Next Gen is the youth arm of the ASA. Next Gen’s objective is to actively reinforce and guide the next generation of Australian agricultural entrepreneurs, by encouraging the formation of a forward-looking regional committee in every region of Australia. They are committed to facilitating the establishment of new organisations and improving existing groups by acting as a hub for knowledge sharing, opening lines of communication, and providing models and approaches for focusing on successful growth in the future.

 

Next Gen aims to strengthen the show movement across the country by increasing youth participation within local show societies, thereby creating stronger, more sustainable agricultural shows and continuing the legacy of these iconic events.

 

They do this by:

 

• Acting as a vehicle for the voices of young people involved in agriculture and the Shows Movement

• Providing opportunities for like-minded young people to meet, share and support one another

• Increase motivation and harness the clear enthusiasm young people have for being involved in their rural communities and agricultural industries

• Provide education and facilitate learning opportunities for young people

• Share best practices across a range of agricultural skills and event organisation

• Enable networking across generations to assist with mentoring and to forge new links between young people and key industry stakeholders.

Membership

 

If you are a Member of the Noosa Show, and aged between 18 and 40, you are automatically a Next Gen member. There are no additional membership fees. Noosa Show Next Gen

 

The Committee and Members of the Noosa Ag Society, encourage and support the young people in our community to become Members, and their active participation in our decision making processes. 

 

In the past, our Next Gen members have spearheaded the:

B&S Ball

Noosa Showgirl Competition

 

and we would provide support for them to continue with as many of these initiatives, and more, as they choose.
